LABOR ADVOCACY OFFICER
College degree in the field of the social sciences; post-graduate study in industrial relations, economics or law, an advantage
Fluent in written and spoken English and Pilipino
Very good technical writing skills
With experience in policy or program formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, advocacy work
Preferably with knowledge of the Philippine Industrial Relations/workers’ rights
Passionate, patient and willing to persevere in the struggle for workers’ rights and able to work long hours under pressure if required.
Computer literate
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:
The Advocacy Officer (AO) will be responsible for the maintenance of the Membership Recruitment & Services’ daily advocacy work. The AO will build the capacity of the organization to carry out advocacy at different decision - making levels.
The AO will monitor developments affecting labor unions and workers in general in order to identify advocacy opportunities and drive initiatives related to these opportunities.
